Owner's Bio

Paula is from Surrey, a quaint village in England, where she lived for 23 years until moving to New Orleans. She began her career apprenticing for three years and working at a salon. However, what molded her as a person was when she accepted a job with the National Health Services in England, cutting hair for physically and mentally handicapped adults. Paula never realized how much this would become the most rewarding job of her career.
Paula discovered New Orleans while on vacation. She had no idea one trip to the Big Easy would lead her to calling this home 30 years later. New Orleans had a way of making her feel welcome. Currently, her passions are family, hair, and hospitality. After working at two barbershops in New Orleans and co-own Modern Men Barbershop since 2012, she wanted to create a place where all these qualities could come together, so she decided to open her very own barbershop, BowTie & Scissors Parlor.
